Design and Strategy

The previous CMLC site lacked consistency project to project while also lacking a lot of details that would enhance the use of these pages.

We created a consistent, reusable system that can be used from project to project. Project pages follow a consistent flow highlighting scope, people involved , timelines, impact and more.

Connections between content

By categorizing the different content types, we identified interconnections that create a cohesive flow, guiding users intuitively through the site.

Utilizing a Design System

The previous CMLC site lacked consistency project to project while also lacking much needed details that users might expect to find on these pages.

Each project page follows a structured flow, showcasing key elements such as scope, team members, timelines, and impact. These pages are interconnected, linking to other district projects, news articles, media releases, and more to create a cohesive and engaging user experience.

In-depth project pages

Guiding the audience through CMLC’s work creating interconnections between content and a deep dive into the entirety of each project.

Transparent timelines

Timeline transparency is key providing not only an idea of time length but when to expact construction and road closures.

Interactive Mapping

Project mapping pinpoints exact locations of projects throughout the city providing location and scale to users.

A design system that evolves and scales alongside CMLC's growth each year.

New but consistent additions since launch

Building on the design system, additional media kits were developed, enabling CMLC to share logos, write-ups, photography, and more for individual project launches. While the media pages adhere to a consistent structure and design, they incorporate customizable background colors, allowing each project's unique branding to shine through.

A standout report to highlight CMLC's wins over the past 5 years.

Following the launch, another key deliverable was the five-year strategic plan report. This report needed to incorporate elements from the existing design system while introducing unique components and a distinct layout that set it apart from the website. The challenge lay in creating a visually striking and impressive report that maintained enough consistency with the website to feel cohesive and integrated.
